Welcome to the Scottish Huntington's Association Youth Service website for children, young people and professionals working with under 25's.

You are probably visiting our website because you are young person living in family with Huntington's disease (HD). You may have always known about HD in your family, or you may have found out recently. Whatever your family situation we hope the information on our site will be of help to you and we welcome any comments or suggestions you may have about it.

The project has two Young People's Advisors - Karen Keenan (North/East Scotland) and Kirsten Walker (South/West Scotland). Their main role is to provide information, support and advice on an individual and group basis for children and young people living in a family with HD.

There are young people from all over Scotland who use the Youth Service and many of you are keen to meet others in the same situation. You can do this by getting involved with our group activities (see diary and events) and/or through the chatroom, forum/discussion board or our BEBO page (see www.bebo.com/SHAyouth). Through these you can meet and talk with other young people living in a family with HD.

This is our brand new website and we are very excited about what information we can share with you on it. The website is split into 4 main sections, children, teens, young adults and professionals. Click on your age range to be directed to the most appropriate information for your age range. When you click on your section, a green box will appear at the right hand side called 'further information'. Click on the links in the box to get all the information you need!
