Thank you for visiting our page on Legacy and In Memorium giving. Whether you’re looking to the future yourself, or visiting in memory of a loved one, please know that we treat every legacy and in memorium gift as a celebration of a life, and strive to ensure that all the funding we receive this way is used to make sure their spirit and their values live on.

There are many ways you can donate money to Scottish Huntington’s Association in memory.

Funeral Collections

A unique and meaningful way of giving a gift in memory is to request donations from family, friends and colleagues in lieu of flowers at the funeral. If you wish, we have specially designed collection envelopes that we can provide for you.

If you would like to order envelopes, please contact us by emailing sally.poppenbeck@hdscotland.org or calling 0141 848 0308. Alternatively, speak to your funeral director who may be able to help you arrange a funeral collection.

Donate In Memory

Many people choose to make a single or monthly donation to Scottish Huntington’s Association in memory of a loved one. Perhaps you may wish to donate money on an anniversary or special occasion such as your loved one’s birthday and help us continue to provide specialist support to those living with HD in Scotland. By donating in memory, you can celebrate the life of your loved one whilst helping others. To donate in memory, click ‘Donate’ and leave the name of your loved one in the note box provided.

Create an In Memory Page to Remember Your Loved One

A JustGiving In Memory fund is a page in which you, your family and friends can remember and celebrate the life of a loved one, whilst raising funds to support the work of Scottish Huntington’s Association. Your loved one’s memory will help us to continue to provide specialist care to people living with HD in Scotland.

All funds raised in your loved one’s name will create a growing online tribute and will be used to help others living with HD in Scotland. Money may be raised from funeral collections or through fundraising events and can be donated directly to SHA via your JustGiving page. To create your JustGiving In Memory page, click HERE.

Organise a Fundraising Event to Remember a Loved One

Organising a fundraising event in memory of your loved one is a great way to celebrate their life, whilst raising vital funds for Scottish Huntington’s Association. Your fundraising event could be anything from an in memoriam coffee morning to a sponsored triathlon. By raising funds in your loved one’s name, you will make a massive difference to those living with HD in Scotland.

You can organise a fundraising event in memory of your loved one by downloading a fundraising pack HERE or by calling 0141 848 0308.

Legacies & Wills

To most people, writing a Will is about taking care of the people that they care for. It’s a way to make sure that your loved ones will be okay after you’re gone.

Donating to Scottish Huntington’s Association in your Will ensures that future generations who face a life with HD get the support they need. By leaving a gift to Scottish Huntington’s Association in your Will, you can help to fund our specialist services in the future. For twenty-five years we have provided those living with HD in Scotland with care and support. With the gifts that we receive from Wills and Legacies, we can continue to deliver our world-class services to those who need them most.

Whatever you chose to donate… £1000, £10,000, 1% of your estate or 10% of your estate… your gift will make sure that we are still here, supporting people living with HD, for years to come.
